Finally, I got round to write this...
I came into this world at about 0230 on the 27th day of March some 3 decades plus ago. And I bet they must have walloped my bum to make me cry the necessary cry that babies must to clear their lungs of any whatever and also make them, lungs, strong in the process. I can only imagine that my ma was certainly satisfied at my eventual arrival and seeing me must have brought tears of joy to her eyes.
My name is oluwaseun Dawodu. What others call me? That depends on who and where? When mother wants the extra stuff done, I am Akinola or the usual Yoruba endearment a mother uses ‘Oko mi’. My friends call me names ranging from the hilarious Popsy, Big Daddy, to the more revered, Mr. D.
I have two younger brothers, one mother and a father; the conventional family with the occasional family drama.
Well it is hard to remember details from those early years. I have heard that a lot of those memories we remember are due to the pictures that were taken and which we now look at that conjures the memory of those days gone by. So any mention of those could be attributed to figments of my imaginations.
My grade school education was in Lagos, followed by a 1 year stint at the Mayflower School, Ikenne, Ogun state. I was relocated to Lagos by my parents due to poor grades to the ‘prestigious’ Methodist Boys’ High School, where the next six years of my life were spent making and breaking up with friends. Eventually graduating with enough credits, actually there were six credits and two distinctions, to not have to seat for another exam at that level.
Some twelve months later I get admitted into the Lagos State University and after a period that stretched beyond the 5 years for the course, Electronics/Computer Engineering, I eventually get the certificate to show that I was teachable.
That’s about it for my formal schooling.
Before going for the compulsory one Year Youth Service, NYSC, I taught Physics and computer studies in a Mixed High School in Lagos. And I also volunteered tutoring at an orphanage also in Lagos, Now popularly referred to as Lasgidi.
These two above were really great opportunities for me in discovering that I love working with young people; helping them to discover themselves and encouraging them to stay the course.
My other interests include singing, reading, and of course writing. Well, I enjoy meeting people who can hold my attention and travelling with friends.
And in the recent past my life has taken a delicate turn; the story is definitely not to be told here.
Okay so all I can do is a summary, forgive me. My life is too complex to be captured in writing or typing as this case is....

This article is about five months late, I think. Remember seeing part of it as far back as that. Looking forward to seeing the continuation of it . . . as the complexities of life would allow *wink*
